This was painted from reference photos I took across the road from my husband's family's original farm in Sutton's Bay, Michigan a few years ago. The contrast between the dark sky from the incoming storm against the brightly lit barn and trees was so exciting and beautiful. I've been wanting to paint this for quite a long time and once I started, it practically painted itself.
