Journey

This was painted from reference photos I took during the Sandhill crane migration on the Platte River in central Nebraska about six years ago. I was excited to finally get this one on the easel. This is a very large piece (4x6 ft!). It just felt like it needed to be large to capture the feeling I was looking for. I want viewers to feel like they are standing on the bridge where I was standing when I took the photos. If you look closely you'll see several groups of Sandhill cranes in the sky, coming in at sunset. I never tire of the Nebraska sunsets, and this one was particularly stunning with all the reflections in the river. This is painted on a gallery wrap canvas which can be hung as is or can be framed, depending on your taste and decor.
