Happy Groundhog Day!
And just like the movie, here we go again. Next week I'll be having
what I hope will be my last surgery for a very long time...third one in
the last 15 months...ugh! I will have my second knee replacement on the
10th and will be out of the studio for a few weeks. Hubby Don was a
great nurse last time around, and he will be on call for appointments
at the gallery until I'm able to get back to regular hours. This also
means my Oil Painting for Beginners class scheduled for March 11th and
12th will be postponed until May 6th and 7th. My sincere apologies for
any inconvenience this may cause. I'm looking forward to being back
soon, pain free and ready to paint my heart out!
The painting above, "Healing Waters", is a small 5x7" gouache
"postcard", available by auction through tonight, Thursday Feb. 2nd, at
8pm PST. It is part of an annual fundraiser for the Laguna Plein Air
Painters Association. Proceeds benefit LPAPA's programs and artists.
There are over 140 paintings available and the bidding starts at just
$50! This is a small cropped version of the oil painting I did last
year while I was undergoing radiation treatments for breast cancer.

New Work
Don and I will each have work featured in an exhibition entitled "For
the Beauty of the Earth" at the Sunderland Gallery, St Cecilia
Cathedral, 3900 Webster St. in Omaha. The show will open on March 3rd
with a reception from 5 to 7pm. Here are some new pieces that will be
included in the show...my two newest paintings and two of Don's latest
serving/charcuterie boards.

Ralston Arts and Creative District Fundraiser

We still have a few pieces left in this collection of framed prints
were donated to the Ralston Arts and Culture Commission by 1st State
Bank in Ralston. They are being sold here with all proceeds supporting
arts and cultural events in Ralston. The majority of the prints are by
Susanna Kocsis, a long time Ralston school district resident and member
of St Gerald Catholic Church. Susanna bravely fought breast cancer
twice. Her inspirational journey with the disease ended in June of
2020. There are also two of my prints in this collection. All of these
framed prints are being offered at well under retail price. A few of
the frames do have scratches that have been filled but may be still
slightly visible. Click here

Workshops and Classes
RESCHEDULED!
BEGINNER OIL PAINTING 2 DAY WORKSHOP
Now to be held Saturday, May 6th and Sunday May 7th
Two day workshop...no previous painting experience necessary. This will
be held indoors at Debra's studio in Ralston, Nebraska. All supplies
provided! $325 - or $295 if you have your own supplies. A list will be
provided. Limited to just 8 students. Open to teens and adults. Click

from August 24th through 26th at the Franciscan Life Center. Click here
